The Hatu Peak Trek is a 7 km one-way forest trail that begins from Narkanda (2,700 m) and ascends to Hatu Peak (3,400 m / 11,152 ft)—the highest point in Shimla district. The trail winds through dense deodar, cedar, fir, and spruce forests, with occasional clearings that offer sweeping views of the Himalayas. At the summit stands the Hatu Mata Temple, a wooden pagoda-style shrine believed to be linked to the Pandavas’ exile. It’s a perfect weekend trek for beginners, families, and spiritual seekers.
